Sarakasi Trust was established in Nairobi, Kenya in December 2001 in response to the need for further development and growth in the cultural and performing arts sector. It aims to develop contemporary choreographic creation, support the presentation and diffusion of performance work and supports research in acrobats, dance and music. Sarakasi aims to promote its objectives in East Africa and beyond. The organisation plays an important role in demonstrating and developing the entrepreneurial possibilities of the arts to contribute to development and livelihood. Sarakasi deals with performing artists of diverse range, talent, back ground, age and gender to create educative and culturally stimulating programs.
