Pale Juu NeXt, Kenya

“Pale Juu NeXt” is the continuation of the extremely successful “Pale Juu and Beyond” Project. Again we are working in cooperation with our principal local partner Sarakasi. This year we are also working with local partner Mighty Jambo's Circus Academy. Again participants receive transport fare and lunch. This year they will receive a small fee for performing in the project shows. We will be performing at the Sarakasi Dome, The International School Kenya, Westgate Shopping Centre, The Go Down Arts Centre and The German School Nairobi. We are confident that there will be further bookings and as such income and employment for the participants resulting from the shows.

“Pale Juu NeXt” will focus on extending skills participants learnt last time and continue to harness the amazing talent of the students. Since "Pale Juu and Beyond” at least ten of the participants have toured internationally to China, Bahrain and Holland. We are very excited by the prospect of extending these already very talented artists, in their areas of interest and excellence.

About Kenya

Back to Projects

The project is twice as long, running from October 2012 until February 2013. Students will cover a variety of skills and disciplines including strength, flexibility and technique. They will participate in aerial artistry, acrobatics, partner and group work, physical theatre, dance, music, show creation and discussion forums.

We will continue to foster the “complete artist” with show viewings and discussions. We will also focus on group work skills and leadership through specific social work activates and continue to build relationships within the group.

A key focus will be to foster further development of the local Nairobi circus industry by engaging with various local circus organisations and their students, As well as the increased number of shows and heavier networking activities with potential clients.
